THE MISSION STATEMENT - WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT ...
Without meaning to sound trite, it's about life; it's about pain; it's about our culture; and it's surely about hope. We live in a corrupt world and we need hope, but not a hope in the sense that "I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow!" but a hope that is actually better decribed by the word "anticipation." In the midst of a world where uninhibted affections demand our attention, and the consequence of unleashing them becomes the slow demise of our reality, then the God-given grace to anticpate that all of this mess will be restored is precisely from where the music is written. That was a mouthful ... The songs refelect the heart-issues and struggles all of us face, and just how we decide to deal with them, but it's also from the perspective of a real hope - not some self-created faith or intellectual religious musings founded on the self-focused template of an already corrupted mind - but on the hope that is found in the revealed will of our Creator as it is presented in the Gospel. |
